Fun budget beauty buy for a moisture burst of spring color
With Mother Nature teasing with glimpses of 70 degree weather and sunshine, I have been jonesing for a pretty colored balm to get my lips ready for spring. I was eyeing up a few brands at Sephora, so I was primed when I saw the Revlon sale sign at my local Duane Reade. It was buy one get one 50% off, so I thought why not? Now I’m sitting here with a pretty pout the color of exotic fruit and a few extra dollars in my pocket for the next beauty buy…win win.
If you’re looking for a lip product with some color payoff that will keep your lips moisturized, then this is for you. It’s described as a gel since it’s not quite as moisturizing as a lip balm but not as thick as a lipstick. Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter is:
- Light on lips
- Sheer to buildable color
- Easy to wear and reapply on the go sans mirror
- Moisturizing with mango, shea and coconut butter (I do wish it was a litter richer at times though, so if your lips are super dry you may need to layer a lip balm underneath)
- Flavorless- no gross chemical or fruity flavor
Leave it to the Puerto Rican girl to pick out the Juicy Papaya shade (I couldn’t help myself)! It is a pretty color, more subtle than the tube would suggest. You can see it on me below, but it is a bit brighter in person. There are other colors available that appear to have a bigger color payoff if that’s what you’re after. Since this is a lip balm though you’re not going to get an opaque finish or a long lasting formula.
For less than $10 you really can’t beat it. I love how natural this looks while also providing the right pop of color!
P.S. The buy one get one 50% off Revlon products promotion at Duane Reade/Walgreens runs through May 2nd. I’ve seen the same sale at Ulta and Rite Aid so check your local store!
